For nearly 25 years Robert Daum has been researching and traveling to Spain, including collaborating over the past 10 years with Spanish scholars and universities in various projects. Currently, with a Spanish scholar at UBC's Okanagan campus, he is co-leading an international research consortium of 30+ researchers; several of the consortium's nine interdisciplinary projects -- from archaeology to religious history to contemporary art -- are based in or closely connected to Spain. In this session, "Jews on the Iberian Peninsula," he proposes to address some current trends in research, which may suggest new ways of thinking about the history of Jews and Judaism on the Iberian Peninsula.
