Many Canadian Jews have ancestral links with Polish places without knowing much about them.  This talk, making lively use of images, will travel from the heart of the new Warsaw to Radzanow, a typical prewar Jewish market town on what was the Polish-German borderland.  Combining attention to history, a touristic eye, with the input of locals, we will travel into the Polish countryside to uncover its links with Jewish culture, as well as to experience recent developments connected with memorializing that culture.  Full of atmosphere and local detail, Poland between Warsaw and Radzanow can be terra cognita, a place of pressing questions and possibilities.
